RESEARCH TECHNICIANS

Research technicians in the Glover Lab perform miscellaneous duties to maintain research productivity and a quality work environment. This includes rodent handling, behavioral testing, brain tissue processing, and general lab management. Postdoctoral fellows

Consideration will be given to individuals interested in studying the effect of chronic alcohol exposure on neural circuits involved in aversive signaling. Trainees will gain experience in circuit-specific approaches including in vivo chemogenetics, optogenetics, and calcium signaling to measure from and manipulate circuits in behaving animals in addition to mentorship in grant writing, manuscript preparation, and personnel management. Qualified individuals will have completed their doctoral training in neuroscience or a related field and should send their CV to Dr. Glover directly at ejglover@uic.edu.


Graduate students

Interested individuals should familiarize themselves with the admissions requirements for UIC's Graduate Program in Neuroscience (GPN) and/or the Graduate Education in (bio)Medical Sciences (GEMS) program with a concentration in Neurobiology. Undergraduates 

We welcome undergraduates looking to gain research experience and who are willing to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week to the lab. Students interested in completing an honors thesis or similar work study project are required to work in the lab for at least one semester prior to beginning thesis work in order to develop a line of interest and ensure compatibility with lab duties.
